Ride the Lightning by Cliffberten
cliff berten has switched from the clean jazzy bass sound that he used on kill them all to like a big fuzzy distorted rock tone. His rhythm guitar though perhaps not always at his tightest i'm not sure but it just sounds like mud when he's playing actual bass parts on his base combine that flabby finger picked tone with cliff's characteristic looseness and the the result is a rhythm section that just kind of sounds stumbling and fumbling on ride the lightning. I'm actually going to put ride the lightning all the way up at number four on my personal list of metallic albums purely on the strength of the songs several songs on this album are good enough to be any other band
