The Importance of Distinguishing Yahweh From Other Els
There are four lines of evidence that here in Ezekiel, we might be looking at an Ashara figure. The Septuagint doesn't read the image of jealousy; it reads "the image of the buyer," which sounds really odd. There's other images that do take this phrasing and link it to Ashara. So if that's the case, what this probably means for the sake of the book of Ezekiel is that somebody put another one in there.
