What's the Early Reflection on Delays?

I generally send a vocal before i send it to a reverb, it's going to a stereo delay. So i've usually between two 50 and 300 milla seconds for left and right. That creates a brighter vocal, like a brighter, wider but i still do the high and low pass ok. I tend to mix kind of vocal forward, and i use the delay as a thread to tie back to the music. It connects an otherwise disconnected, overly present vocal back to theMusic. And so you get that very it's not quite a 50 slap, but it's very obviously widened. The effect is almost spooky.
