Is a Regular Shampoo Good Enough?
There isn't enough chelating agents in shampoos to make much impact for removing mineral buildup caused by hard water. A regular shampoo is going to be enough to remove any of those minerals. You should also shouldn't be getting mineral buildup unless you're using a soap-based shampoo that's good in your hair. But as far as tree nut allergy and using witch hazel, you could use witch hazel.
