How to Play a Game Like a Human
A human being tries about 35 positions as far as we can tell. A machine makes something like 35 million positions to check. That doesn't make the machine better than the other guy. We cannot give a direct procedure for this. The man does it by recognizing a pattern. Oh, this knight can walk the king and queen or something. So if it goes here, so I have to watch out about that square. He sees patterns. At least he describes it that way. We really don't know how it works.
