There's a correspondence between what they're actually saying and what's going on in there in their brain. So for example, if you give am subjects words that relate to actions that involve a particular part of the body, like kick involves your feet, lick involves your mouth,. You see a pattern of activation which roughly seems to correspond to a the layout of the body map in those structures. And these things are not a, there never, you know, is as straightforward as one might like. But it's a really fascinating observation. It's mind boggling.
