The Problem With Acupuncture as a Drug

Many studies of acupuncture research are really asking is the needle effective, not as acupuncture effective? In Chinese medicine and in Chinese martial arts, there's a big component of the treatment or the application of the martial arts of intention. And we never successfully isolated that part of the treatment to be able to look at it as a separate variable in the treatment. Could you poke people in the wrong places? Good, you absolutely could and people do that. So here's the problem. I kind of downplayed the idea that acupuncture is working through the nervous system. Is there any other concept, idea being put forward of how acupuncture works? And the possibility is that it's acting through the fascia.
