What's the Biggest Problem for the Palace?
The UK doesn't have a written constitution. We talk about constitutional precedents, we're really talking about history. But if the history isn't clear then the parameters of what is possible are unclear. It's a problem I think for policy makers in making sense of this very complicated constitutional situation. And it means that people read about the palace in their newspapers in terms of personal gossip and personal scandal rather than in terms of the monarchy as a working part of the constitution.
