William vickaraged was a sailor who had been burned during the battle of jutland. His eyelids were flipped inside out, so he couldn't even close his eyes at night. He adapted a procedure from a dutch surgeon called an epithelial inlay. This allowed him to reconstruct something as delicate and as technical as eyelids.
