The genealogies are finished—and now the story begins. In 1 Chronicles 10–12, the Chronicler fast-forwards to the rise of David, but not in the way we’re used to. There’s no Goliath, no Bathsheba, no wilderness years. Instead, Ezra paints a picture of David the worshiper, not just the warrior. His focus is clear: David’s legacy is found not in his strength—but in his surrender. Today’s episode unpacks why Ezra skips the drama and zeroes in on David’s coronation, mighty men, and heart of inquiry. These chapters call exiled Israel to rebuild their identity—and call us to examine ours.
