Athenians were very upset. They thought is was terrible. Omen. And you then started to get a lot of accusations of religious wrong doing. A somebody they suspended the right of citizens not to be tortured. The athenian leader of the expedition, alcibiades, had allegedly profaned the mysteries at eleusis. He demanded to stand trial, but they didn't put him on trial. Then after it had gone, they put him on Trial.
