What Do We Know About Bazerkes?

We see some pretty intense and viceral rituals throughout the film at different points. What do we know about rituals in the viking world? Obviously there's not a huge material legacy left behind by them. So how do we reconstruct those? We can sometimes see the results of them in terms of things that have been buried ors scattered about as part of ritual activity. I think one of the biggest challenges is the idea of bazerkes. Not all scholars believe they existed. Some some see them asas essentially a literary idea. Other scholars see them as much moreof a writ a matter of ritual performance, a prelude to regular battle.
