Eric Liu: Are we really going to start looking at race and gender above all? He says equity used to mean a form of merit in the sense that you had put something in. That was your equity. Now it's just the way you look and the gender you identify with, but the gender you were essentially born with. Liu: It's like a new ruling class by birth. I think the party's off track.
