Lydia catcho is one of mexico's most prominent and fearless journalists. For more than two decades she has uncovered systematic abuse of women and girls by powerful criminal elements, allegedly aided by those in power. Her breakthrough investigation concerned exposure of a pedepile ring in the resort city of cankoon. A well known local business an was eventually convicted of organizing the shocking sexual abuse of children. But tapes later emerged which appeared to implicate a state governor and another business tycoon in a plot to target and torture lydia cacho.
