Gohner: We see all of these sort of committees you know sort of burgeoning throughout the country, and it does take a little bit of time but gradually the islamists put their imprint on them. He says they're still very much in this process of struggling and seeing how much support and grassroots support they actually have. Gohner: Khomeini himself doesn't have quite an idea of what he's ultimately going to be able to achieve here But he has this really kind of strong popular sensibility for moving people towards his gender.
