The plantscape of cities, the wild spontaneous growing things, was kind of written out of the history. And it was really only in the sort of 19th century that was this kind of rage to spray and rip up and pull out what we've seen as weeds. So because they were plants that like grow in derelict sites, they were seen to kind of sort of be moral plants in a way,. Because they hung out in dodgy areas. They must be dodgy plants. But does that have a precedent? Well, animals have been incredibly important in cities. We've talked about plants. I now want to talk about animals.
