Todor Jifkov: The Leader of the Bulgarian Communist Party
Todor Jifkov dominated Bulgarian politics for 35 years until the collapse of communism in 1989. He was a very more or less kind of humble guy, but he did really try to liberalize Bulgaria as much,. you know, internally as possible. And I see this very clearly in things like the women's movement, where in 1968, when the women's committee is reorganized, they get something called obstestin control.
