Bass Guitars - How Do You Work the Low End Into a Mix?

Gently, i guess it all depends on the sound you're going for. I tend to try and keep things simple in the base. Forty hert shelf, for me, i love forty herd shelf on base. Some guys like to bury bases in 11 76 to get that growl. The more equalization you apply to a base instrument, the more those super deep, warm frequencies will become mushy.
