The tragedy of life is expressed every time you hug your child. The affirmation of life includes a kind of realization that things are passing away. And I think that that's present in all great works of art, whereas it's absolutely absent in the urinal. Bach is not just about, oh, feel good. It's not just a kind of like picture of a wild horse you'd hang in your shitty suburban bathroom. There's no room for tragedy and nihilism. Nihilism is also the rejection of tragedy because it isn't a firm anything.
