What's the Difference Between Voice User Interface and Multimodal?

Voice user interface is actually two things, isn't it? It's talking to and being talked to. And there are very different capabilities and problems attached to both. We're back in an area that's broadly similar to when we went mobile. Even if you're designing a chatbot, you should be doing it in voice - even if you're not going to deliver a voice interface.
