A lot of people think, well, if I invest $29,000 in the pre tax, that's a lot better than $22,000 in a Roth because I'll have a bunch more money. If your tax rate stays the same, you'll end up in exactly the same place. In other words, the Roth dollars will be cheaper, but it'll have the same spending power since they're out-of-pocket. This is almost a force saving. Once you hit 32, you might want to reevaluate.
