What Does Elective Monarchy Mean in Practice?
The agilonian dynasty ruled in two completely different ways. In the eastern part, they rule that simply through hereditary inheritance. The other way is elective monarchy where kings are chosen by a royal council of top nobility. They try as hard as they can to make these elective crowns hereditary and establish their power there on a longer term footing.
