The Promises and Limitations of Liberalism
I want to ask you about sort of the promises and limitations of liberalism, because that's a major theme in your book. It does seem like in a way that liberalism, at least as it's operated in the US does promise some degree of redistribution and a solution to poverty. And if the answer is yes, where do you see it kind of not going far enough? Well, I think, you know, in the present moment it doesn't offer a solution tooverty. But no, I don't think the concept of redistribution, which would be necessary in any kind of anti poverty program really fits within the broader ideological framework of liberals today.
