This month it's 50 years since i saw my first show at the ris, which was ilen atkins in. My mum had packed us all into the back of her baj minnie and we had come down from preston to see a play. And apparently i said to my mum on the way back, that's what i want to do when i grow up. So i must have grown up. Last ten years you've been artistic director here. That's right, 35 years in total, with the s c the royal shakespeare company. It's coming to an end. How big a wrench is it going to be? Well, i hope not to sever my tites
