The Importance of Knowing the Meaning of a Word

If you don't understand a word, play to your strengths. Look around the word and for what you do understand, use just use that. Not understanding a word is not going to kill your score. Even if it is slightly off topic because you don't know one word, you might lose points in the task response category,. But in vocabulary, grammar, cohesion and coherence, your scores can still be as high as you want, you know, as you can get.
