The Meaningless Universe of Lovecraft

In Lovecraft you have a meaninglessness to his view of the cosmos both in real life and existentially for him. But Legotti the problem is it's not a meaningless universe it's not exactly Neolistic there is a meaning and it's malevolent and you're screwed. I would align Legotti very closely with someone like Arthur Machen who approaches the fiction with a religious sensibility that I find less present in Lovecraft.
