The Pink Triangle - A Symbol of Pride

In Nazi Germany and other countries that were occupied by the Nazis, people were marked on their clothing with various symbols to indicate who they were. Gay men were also persecuted and they had a pink triangle. Baker was aware of all of this and understood these symbols histories. For him personally, the pink triangle still brought back a lot of negative connotations. So he chose to go with a flag. He saw flags as the most powerful symbol of pride.
