Brian Coburger in Court Today to Seek the Death Penalty for the Brutal Stabbings of Four University of Idaho Students

Brian Coburger is charged with four counts of first degree murder in the deaths of University of Idaho students Kaylee Gonzalez Madison, Mogan, Zanna Carnodel and Ethan Chapman. Court documents recently revealed investigative genetic genealogy was used to track down Coburger. Investigators compared DNA recovered from a knife sheath found at the crime scene to sample submitted by the public for ancestry tests. The defense also wants to know how the FBI used cell phone records to show that Coburger was near the crime scene in the weeks before the murders.
