The Red Dwarf: The Origin Story
The Creature of the Week is the Nain Rouge from Detroit, Michigan. It means Red Dwarf in French and was apparently believed by the Ottawa tribe that inhabited the area to be the son of their stone god and protector. The people of Detroit have a very specific origin story for the evil little guy. He's reportedly been seen multiple times in Detroit before bad things happen. A general reported being attacked by a red dwarf in the fog just before surrendering in the War of 1812. People have reportedly been attacked in 1872, 1884, and 1964. As recently as 1996, he appeared trying to break into a car.
