Is the Ottoman Empire an Islamic Empire?
Ottoman empire is based on maintaining difference, which allows for diversity. While the portuguese and spanish massacred or converted all their jewish subjects,. Those jewish people migrated to the ottoman empire where they are able to practise judaism. So itse an empire whose ruling elite is also made up of much of the elite is made up of converted christians. It's a serious political player. Is it correct? Callet an islamic empire? That's a difficult question.
