It wasn't like a big eureka moment, it just gradually became apparent that you were working in a space that was very valuable to people managing capital. I was always on the camp of rational risk-based explanations for various as surprising phenomena and so I was providing explanations for us surprising anomalies such as the small cap effect or the value effect. That was certainly part of it, there was also an intellectual curiosity aspect to it because when I was doing that work it was also the time where behavioral finance became more prevalent if you like.
