The Politics of Language
In English, there are two main words that we can use to describe the place we live. A house is more practical and a home gives an idea of comfort. But where it becomes perhaps more complicated is when the place someone calls home is not a traditional dwelling. One UN study estimating that 150 million people, so that's 2% of the world's population, fall into this category. This example touches on lots of interesting linguistic points, as well as highlights the politicisation of language.
