The Origins of Medical Sociology
Florence Nightingale was one of the first nurses during the Civil War time. Because of her, thousands of other women became incorporated into the military to give aid to soldiers. And that really opened up the avenue for medical sociology to kind of insert itself and become a legitimate force in the United States.
