Why Would China Defy the US and Provide Weapons to the Russians?

The Chinese may see some advantages in a long war in Europe. They certainly don't want Russia to lose. I think that's partially it. Second of all, my guess is they see no possible upside in US relations right now. So they don't see any reason from their point of view to exercise constraint.
