In each of israel's big cities, hife, televive, jerusalem and bersheva, there were marches, petitions, leaflets and demonstrations. Freedmen and other professors and students demanded the rhif university set up de care,. A feminist publishing house called the second sex started putting out books. By now, most everyone had heard of the feminists. And while they were mocked and dismissed by lots of people, lots more saw them as the future. One person who believed that the women's movement mattered was member of canesat culamid alone after eight years in the labor party.
