The Chessboard Killer
The chessboard killer does take place in russia, and russia's roots with chess is really intense. In the k g b training handbook, they had a whole ass section on chess. The germans created this machine called the enigma. And it got all of these roter cyphers to scramble messages that are nearly impossible for anybody to decode unless you know the exact positions that the roters need to be in order for them to work.
