The Importance of Prestige in Islamic History

Fatimid Khadifa al-Haqim bin Amril-la was one of the more, shall we say, colorful figures in Islamic history. He seems to have had a screw loose as we say in English quite literally. The Duruzi sect comes from him and he is considered by them to be God on earth. And then one day he sat on a donkey and walked out of the city. That's how his rule came to an end.
