The Soviets Are Short on Translators
The soviets were really short on translators. It was hard to get the n k b d, that the security apparatus in the soviet union, to approve people who knew foreign languages for travel abroad. The french are able too fill in and send more interpreters and translators more easily because they don't have the same kinds of constraints as the soviets. Ye thi ends of being a huge deal. There's also just issues because of not being able to keep up all the time,. As well with some of the translation, or even the translation, the interpretation, rather in the court room but even within smaller meetings.
