I remember in like the Nativity, Mary was always a blonde blue-eyed girl. And I really wanted to be Mary. There is just something that in people's mind, there is a vision of what beauty and purity are. That looks like that you're so very scary. It's everything that we ascribed to being beautiful. In some ways it would be fine if it was like, okay, that's what pretty is. But it's the meaning that we then put on top of that. The privileges that we give beauty that aren't necessarily earned is the issue.
