There is, i think, a shift, but it's so gradual. And of course, it doesn't always take into account these strange aberrations from this rule. There are nineteenth century buildings that were genuinely designed to be sort of slightly like fortifications. Iyou know, by the contrary measure, as early as the thirteenth century, people are clearly admiring castles as works of architecture. Now, castles are both for fun and for war, and these images of them are all interrelated.
