The Impact of the Heat Wave on the Southwest

From Montana to Miami, two thirds of the nation will experience temperatures above 90 degrees within the next 24 hours. The most brutal conditions are in the Southwest with the city of Phoenix topping 110 for the 26th straight day. A new study by a group of international scientists finds extreme heat swells now burning much of the U.S. and southern Europe would be virtually impossible without climate change.
