The Merchant's Roll in Shaping England's Trade and Empire
Traditional trade from england is a fairly limited channel trade. What we see over the course of this century is that merchants try to reach different locations a further distance. And in doing so, theyre going after different types of commodities. I've mentioned the geographical spread, but there's also a huge array of different items that they're trying to gain access to. The reader finds both the way in which britain, or england, goes about its trade and empire, but also changes society itself. Merchants to the heart of political activities and social change as well. That's the combination of factors that really drew me towards this topic.
