The Russian Military Is Using Western Technology for Military Applications

Russia is continuing to obtain US microchips and other advanced Western technologies for use in the military. One piece of analysis of 58 pieces of critical military equipment belonging to Ukraine was found to have more than a thousand foreign components, primarily Western semiconductors. Out of these critical components, we see two-thirds of the producers being headquartered in the US. The companies themselves should have the infrastructure to be able to track it and comply with expert controls. If we have certain moral values or national security objectives, we cannot be giving with one hand and then giving to Russia with the other.
