The Gluncheon Club at the New York Stock Exchange closed in 2006 as a cost-saving measure. The S&P 500 goes up every single year and it's very rare when it drops a lot. If people ask me why does the stock market go up over time so much I say simple if it didn't there wouldn't be a stock market.
