Q is a language that defers the process of learning new programming languages. The first major thing I wrote in Q had to be rewritten because it performed like Java, and we didn't pick Q to get Java level performance. It's funny and not, you know, like where your case statement is a dollar sign or something like that; it's syntactically different enough that it feels exotic.
