The Pentagon papers themselves which you released didn't change the course of the war they didn't really change public opinion because let's not forget Nixon beat McGovern despite four years of Vietnam policy which was failed he got reelected yes as a whistleblower and as somebody who latter-day whistleblowers like Assange and Chelsea Manning and Edward Snowden always refer to what you did  a great example of why whistle-blowing matters.
