Is China a Hotbed of New Variants Emerging?

There's some concern in the background that China could become a hotbed of new variants. So far those aren't spreading in the west We have about 5% of our infections here in the United States of bf7. It doesn't seem to be out competing bq1 That would be my concern that we get through this wave of infection. And in come the spring we have another wave of infection with bf7We're prepping vaccines There's going to be a meeting of the fda after the first of the year about whether or not we prepare Some kind of vaccine at least for a very vulnerable people who might need a booster if a new variant does emerge.
