No one in Ireland invented Irish spring, it was actually invented in Germany in 1970. It made its way to the United States in 1972. Initially for the first decade that Irish spring was around, on the package, it said a manly deodorant soap. They couldn't call it German spring either because that sounds like some kind of nazzy offensive or something.
