The Anti-Revolutionary Mind
The men who would fight for control of Europe in 1848 all had the French Revolution on their minds as they decided whether to embrace revolutionary fever or reject it. The answers often depended on your family's socioeconomic standing both before and after the revolution. At one end of the spectrum, we have those who looked back at the French Revolution with nothing but horror and disgust. But this category of anti-revolutionaries divided up into three broad groups who agreed on practically nothing but the fact that revolution was abhorrent.
