The Rise of the Carolingian Dynasty

Carolingian means that they 're the descendants of charles. Charlemagne a king who managed to conquer not only the lands of the franks, but also large parts of what is now germany. His other great achievement was to have himself crowned as emperor in the year 800 in rome. And then within the frankish world, we start to see the rise, separately, of archetypes, monks and knights, and then their fusion as crusaders. So there's an awful lot going on in there. And i've tried to sum up some of the dominant themes of, as dave said, 500 years in a bare ten minutes. I think i will ask
